Stocking flowers or nylon flowers are vintage DIY Flowers. These were very popular in the 70s.
Since, we are living in an era where different is always unique and special. I thought why not give these old flowers some new love.
Today I am sharing a quick and easy tutorial on making Pansies. Simple cute flowers best for a little girls room or a baby nursery. These can also add new life to your craft room if you like!
The best thing about these flowers is that you can shape the petals in any desirable form you want! Since you wrap a loop of wire in stocking it makes the petals flexible. Stocking flowers can be used as decoration in vases, jewelry and accessories. Even to make craft projects like wall art, garlands, pillows and lamps prettier.
To make DIY flowers you will need :
- Ring size (2), (3) and (4) (simply means the diameter)
- Stocking net
- Floral tape
- Nylon thread
- Stem wire
- Wire
- Plier

- Now to thread the flower together. Follow the tutorial to make a basic nylon flower.
- Make sure you keep your hand light on the petals. And keep their shape round.
- Finally using sharpie or marker add some shade at the center of the petals. This gives it an original look. And you are done!
I Love it. These flowers can also be used to refashion an old item in your home.
I also made these Nylon Flowers.

It refers to the diameter in inches. Hope this helps!
