First let me show you why I needed to make jewelry organizer. Promise me you won’t judge me after I show you .
My daughter bought me this really cool jewelry box/picture frame. I really love it, but as you can see it’s a total unorganized mess. I have a garbage can sitting right under it and I’m continually picking things out of the garbage. Really the problem is I have way to much jewelry! But I’d rather come up with a solution to organize it than get rid of any of it. 🙂 The bottom right had picture is how I’ve lived for the last 2 months. I got sick of digging through it all and sat it on my floor and sorted the earring into pairs and left it there until I came up with a solution. The time has now come.
Here’s what I did to make jewelry organizer:
I was out in our barn and saw a huge stack of window grids and I thought that might be perfect thing if I could only have my husband cut it apart and use one side. My closet has a tall and skinny space that will have it fit perfectly. While I was searching through the pile I found a broken pane that provided me with the fourth space on my organizer.
Once all this was sorted out, I needed material to make a practical organizer for lots of jewelry. I wanted to use screening for earrings but I didn’t have any at home so I ended up using the hardware cloth I had used on my Vertical Succulent Garden. For holding the bracelets I used peg board and I knew the cork squares with thumbtacks (decorated with embellishments for fun) will be perfect for the necklaces. I thought the corsage pins will be too big and flimsy for me. I also bought some felt flowers for decorating my organizer.
Once I had all my supplies around, I started stapling on the wire and hot glued on the cork and peg boards. I then spray painted the whole board white and started adding my embellishments. I used my Silhouette and cut out blue vinyl swirls.
Ending up with this
Jewelry hanging organizer
that can hold a lot of jewelry.
Thanks again Hani for allowing me to share how to make jewelry organizer.
This is such a cute Organizer. I can see how you can organize a whole lot of jewelry on it!
