So happy to share this party with you! We love parties but we didn’t have any reason to do one so we called it the Just for fun party!
Because having fun is FUN!
I will share with you, how to do a party without going broke. LOL!
The tip is that before you choose the color theme of your party, look around your home for items that you can use to set up the table. For example, for the food table, I used plates that I already had.
Another good tip is to look for clearance items at your favorite craft store. So here goes!!
Decoration:
I just love Hobby Lobby! You can get really good deals! I purchased the pinwheels for $1.70 each, the 3 butterfly/flower place card for 90cents each, 99cents for the ribbon and paid $4 for the scrapbook paper{40%off}! Spent around $12!! YEAH!
Food:
I wanted to do something simple but yummy for the children. They had vegetables/ranch dip, turkey/cheese wrap, mini hot dogs, pretzel, gold fish, cheese & crackers, grapes, cupcakes and marshmallows on a stick. Another tip: for the food, try not to do anything too fancy. Most of the food that I served I already had at home.
Cup Cake Stand:
For the cupcake stand, I painted a piece of wood that I already had, added a mini banner using leftover scrapbook paper and place it on top of plastic cups. Believe me it was sturdy.
I also added little flags to the cupcakes using leftover scrapbook paper.
and Instead of buying party labels, make your own! I made my labels using Publisher. But if you want to do a Just for Fun party, I did the job for you! You can download all the labels for free!
I have 3 different sizes so you can choose the perfect one for you! Scroll down to download the label of your preference!
I also made some TP roll
party favors. Find the tutorial
here.
And a Wall Banner, which I again made with scrap paper shaped into pennants and glued together on a rope
The kids liked the idea that the snacks were ready for them in these small cups.
Turkey/Cheese wraps
The mini hot dogs were a hit! I made them ahead of time added a little bit of ketchup, sprinkled shredded cheese and wrapped in foil and put in the oven for the cheese to melt.
Another great buy! Got this pitcher at Walmart, $4
Picture Frame Prop:
Made a cute Picture Frame Prop, with banner I made with scrapbook paper and labels arranged on a blue ribbon to match the theme
and I arranged some pinwheels at the bottom right corner, I made with scrap paper. You can find the complete project tutorial here.
Finally some butterflies I bought from Hobby Lobby too, on clearance. 🙂
For the No Sew Table Runner, I used the no sew tape to add seam around the fabric and ribbon. Find the tutorial
here
The kids had fun making poses holding the frame! Here are some shots of the party! Enjoy!
The children loved playing with water balloons in the trampoline!
