This is one of my favorite dollar tree Christmas crafts idea to repurpose and upcycle paper. You stick photo frames together and use gift bags to make a larger art that looks like a window scene by Beth Tilleman Cobiski.

DIY Gift Bag Window

MATERIAL:

  • 5×7 photo frames
  • E6000 or hot glue
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Gift bag of your choice
  • Foam board
  • Ribbon
  • Staples

All supplies for this craft is from the dollar tree.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) It’s a large gift bag and four 5×7 photo frames. You can also use 4 different paper bags that can go together.

2) Remove the frame backing and glass.

3) Glue the frames together using E6000 and hot glue for instant hold. Add popsicle sticks to the back of the frames for extra support so they don’t bend where glued.

4) Then put the frames on top of the gift bag and trace around it with a pencil. Cut the bag a little smaller than where the pencil line was so it doesn’t show past the frame.

5) Glue the bag to a foam poster board so the back is not just the paper. Cut the foam board around the bag once the bag is glued to foam board. You can skip this part and frame the paper inside the frame directly or stick the paper to the frame backing with tape.

6) Attach that to the frames.

7) You can also paint the frame like here it is painted white and while the paint is wet take a paper towel to dab a little to give it a distressed look.

8) Use modge podge and faux snow to make it look like its snowing under each pane.

9) You can also decorate it with embellishments like a foam snowflake in the center and other one on the corner.

10) Use the ribbon from the bag to hold the frame on the wall. You can glue and staple it on the back.

Gift Bag Dollar Tree Christmas Crafts

Here is another Christmas window by Danielle Faulkner. Love the way it turned out. Everything is from Dollar Tree.

DIRECTIONS:

I used a large gift bag and four 5×7 frames. I hot glued the frames together, and then I hot glued popsicle/craft sticks on the back of the frames as a brace. Allow to dry for about an hour. Then I took the glass from the frames and traced out my pictures on the gift bag. Cut the pictures out and put them in the picture frames with the glass and back of frames. Then I made the bow with ribbon from Dollar Tree and used the gold berries floral pick from Dollar Tree to make the decoration. To hang I will add a piece of twine to the hooks on the back of the frames.
