I am so excited to be guest posting today at Craftionary! I am Ashley, the face and voice behind Simply Designing. I also write a lot of tutorials. In addition I write a column twice a month for a local newspaper. It is a lot of fun!

So I keep very busy around here, but most of all, I like to keep things SIMPLE! Today, I would like to share with you a tutorial for a New Felt Hair Flower!

I’ve made a lot of hair flowers but this is a new one, with a slight St. Patrick’s Day twist!
So I hope you enjoy it!

Make white flowers

First, here’s how to make the felt flower:
felt flower instructions with picture
  • Cut a large circle out of felt and make wavy edges
  • Starting from the outer edge, cut a wavy spiral out of the circle. Leave a small circle in the center uncut.
  • Roll the felt into a rosette starting form the outer edge. Continue to roll until the entire piece is rolled.
  • Use hot glue to stick the small circle to the bottom of the flower.
Next you need to line your alligator clip.
I chose to use a green ribbon on my alligator clip so that it would work for St. Patrick’s Day, but you can use any color you want to of course.
Then you will hot glue your felt flower to your alligator clip and voila! Instant St. Patrick’s Day hair bling!!
